SARAH NOCE PHOTOGRAPHY

Growing up, my Dad always had one eye, his camera, pointed my direction.

I started taking pictures when I was about 12. My Dad and I built a darkroom together in our basement where I learned the rigors of light containment,
chemical baths, proper film handling, the wonders of high-contrast filters, the characteristics of different papers, and how I wish I could afford
that super fast lens for my old Canon AE-1 (which I still have and use!).

I see photographic opportunities everywhere. My mind continually wanders as I go about my day, noticing subtle textures and patterns in everything I see,
wondering what that same object would look like through my [insert lens type here] with [insert film type here] at [insert time of day here].

Nothing beats the vibe of a wedding. People are happy. Excitement is in the air. Lives intertwine. Photographic opportunity at its best.

A little about my personality:
+ I like dogs and cats and have two of each. I like husbands, too, but only have one of those.
+ I like to garden, but I'm not very good at it.
+ My family is very important to me.
+ I like to ride motorcycles.
+ I love pop art, I'm a mid-century modern aficionado, and I love modernist homes (Eichler and Haver rock!).
+ I like to bar-b-que as well as cook vegetarian dishes (ironic?).
+ I adore Maneki Nekos (lucky cats; those little figurines that you see in Chinese and Japanese restaurants next to the cash register).
+ I like to write, sew things, and make kooky crafts.
+ I love to go camping. I love to go off-roading.
+ I like to do laundry (weird, I know). I'm ridiculously organized.
+ and lastly but most importantly, I'm a total photography junkie.
